Christian Education for Adults

Christian Formation
Christian Formation is a life-long process in one's journey of faith. The goal at St. Mark's is to create an environment which enables people of all ages to discover themselves as God's people and to carry out the ministries to which they are called.

Sunday Adult Forum takes place at 9:15 Sunday morning in the Library. Various topics are covered in one to four week series: Bible Study, The Church in History, Current Issues and our Faith, Seasons of the Church and their Importance, to name a few.
Walk-ins are welcome.

Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC) is an adult education program designed to provide an experience in building Christian community while encouraging individual spiritual growth.

DOCC Year One is designed to familiarize and re-familiarize participants with the core foundations of Christianity. Through study, discussion, and prayer, individuals can experience a deeper spiritual life, learn the basics of the faith, develop a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ, experience being part of a caring community, and feel challenged to exercise their ministry. Some of the topics covered are: Becoming the Church, the Biblical faith, Love and Salvation, and The Word of God.

DOCC Advanced Courses. After completing the basic DOCC course (Year One), several advanced course selections are available to be offered, each with a different focus: Pastoral Care; Discerning your Gifts for Ministry; A Journey With St. Mark, Israel's Struggle With God: The Old Testament; and Turning the World Upside Down: The Acts of the Apostles.

Theological Book of the Month is a group that chooses a book to read, then meets the next month to discuss the contents and how it relates to their life as a Christian.

Monday Night - Adults in Study, Prayer, and Discussion! Meets Monday Evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 pm. Topics and length of offerings vary: a six-week course on Prayer, DOCC I, and Bible Study. No homework required.
