Outreach Ministries:
Mission
The mission of the Outreach Committee is to perform charitable services for our local community, throughout the Washington Diocese, and occasionally worldwide. We carry out these services in several ways. We send representatives to local community church organizations. We collect and distribute food, clothing, school supplies and donations throughout the year to people in need. Lastly, we decide how budgeted funds are to be allocated.

St. Mark's Thrift Shop has been in existence for over fifteen years serving the Fairland-Burtonsville community. Today it is located in a facility adjacent to the St. Mark's Church. The operation of the shop is performed by church member volunteers. Articles for the shop are contributed by residents of the community. Received articles are evaluated and sorted by the volunteers for sale. Articles not approved for sale are forwarded to the Salvation Army. Proceeds from sales are forwarded to the Church's operating fund.

Special Challenge Camp at Claggett
Youth and Adults from St. Mark's spend one week in August staffing a camp for developmentally challenged adults. This has come to be an important ministry of the parish. This event provides funding, staffing, materials and programming for over 60 developmentally challenged adults. St. Mark's has spearheaded this ministry since 1992.
